From printed doodles to traditional painting

Sometimes, I like to play with digital creations. It’s nice, different, and sometimes easier when you have kids running around you! (I say sometimes, because most of the time, I feel that traditional drawing is much easier with my children as they want to come and draw too) So I decided to draw winter doodles to illustrate this cozy mood. Forest creatures mostly, as it’s our main place to be 🙂

Even if I like the final digital result, I want to have a traditional version of it. So here is what I did for this drawing.

I printed one of the doodles that I did, and after that, I used my light table to draw on watercolor paper with an H pencil. I prefer to use this one as it is very light and can easily be removed. After that, I chose a limited color palette so it gives more consistency to the drawing. You can learn more about it in this post

I like the final result, even if my bird is darker than I wanted it to be. In the beginning, I wanted it to be a tit, but I changed my mind and added a different color to paint a RobinđŸ˜¶Â

And tadaa! Now it’s your turn and you can download this doodle coloring page for free!
